Ouch

Here it is. Ol' chippy. One slip in the bathtub is all it takes. She cried for about 20 minutes and then watched her favorite cartoon to relax. It hasn't seemed to bother since. Her dentist is a very nice woman with 3 children of her own. She says two of them have chips worse than this. What has she been doing to those poor kids? :)

Painting With Chocolate / Livi Turns One

More toddler action this week. We did painting with chocolate at a local sweet shop. We celebrated Livi's one year birthday and spent a fun day with the Thayne's at the Durham kids museum. We saw bears!!

Ava was cranky at first, but she really got in to the painting.

Making Daddy's valentine. The chocolate dries on the wax paper and viola.

Mommy and Ava. I wish she was smiling here. She's thinking about it.

Look at how cute this kid is! Big smile from Emer.

Emer at one year and Livi at one year. Can you tell they're related?

Emerson's obsession this week ... bears! "Krissy beear.", he says.

Livi is thinking about all the fun she is going to have at her party.

Everything is a long step down for Ava.

Mommy and Ava. Again, I wish we could get a big smile.

Livi's turn to play on the chairs.

Happy Birthday Livi!

More decorations.

Livi's personal cake.

Humm. Pretty good stuff.

It's all over me!

Livi got a stroller for her birthday! It was a hit.

Going for a spin.

Emerson takes charge.

Lovely Livi.

Emerson loved all of Livi's gifts!

Ava and Uncle Stan.

Lots of playing.

Watching Emer climb.

Livi runs around outside.

We all play outside and try to stay out of the mud.

The kids run around in front of the bear enclosure.

Livi checks her mom's expression. "These are bears you know?"

One gets a drink.

One last look.

Splash

Let's see. What were the week's happenings? We went to the Marble's Kids Museum in Raleigh. It's a bit of a drive, but this is by far the biggest indoor play museum on the list. Too bad it's not closer. We saw the Thaynes lots this week. Hallelujah! We always love to see them. On the weekend the Nielsons went for a hike at Bond Park. A very good week!

Here is Ava in the ocean themed part of the Marble's Kids Museum.

If you have ever wondered what it might be like for a baby to helm a submarine, here's it is. Pretty darn cute.

Working in the marine lab. (A la team Zissou.)

The kids can play in little tide pools.

I should have brought extra clothes for this, but taking her shirt off works too.

Waddling around in her little smock.

This place is expansive. Ava loves it.

Working in the cat hotel. Wow.

Climbing up the scratching post.

Looking out over the play area.

It was funny to go through the pictures and see this photo. This is the moment she found a piece of junk mail that has been her constant companion. It's a brochure for a credit union with Disneyland vacation packages featured. (hint, hint.) I have laminated the cover with packing tape for extra sturdiness. I wonder how long it will last. "Book?", she asks when she can't find it.

Rex is having fun with his camera.

"Shoes." What toddler isn't in love with shoes?

Here is Emerson watching the fish. He was a good boy and didn't try to grab it out of the water.

It's so fun to watch the kiddies play together. Right after this photo, Ava tried to get her hands in there. Emerson was very amused by this no-no.

Ava watching Kipper the Dog. A recommendation from Kristen. A 1000 thanks!

Silly people at the park.

Lil' ladybug.

Emerson James is a cutie.

Ava gathers seed pods from the gumball tree. Missed one.

Bubble boy.

Emer and Ava put on a show.

Notice anything different here? Emerson was a fan of the ladybug hat and put it on his head. He politely put his hat on Ava. Well done Emer.

Bundled and swinging.

This was fun to watch.

Here is Becca's pretty table setting for the baby shower she hosted. Jill made the paper circles for the garland and Becca sewed them together. Very pretty.

Hanging out with the girls.

Lovely Livi.

A walk by Bond Park lake.

Hiking with Daddy.

A bird party.

Great duck picture.

A lovely afternoon.

Weee.

Kisses for Ava-Bava.

Love you!
