Summer Wrap Up

It was a long warm summer. Plenty of water fun, farm visits, and festivals. Oh, and camping! That has to be the highlight of summer for Ava. She had so much fun with her cousins! I think they would just like to live in a tent by the lake. Fine by me. Less to clean up. :)

Taking a dip in an Umstead Forest stream.

Don't slip.

Collecting rocks.

A farm visit on the weekend with Dad and goats.

Playing in the corn pit.

Relaxing in the corn pit.

Big smiles for the corn pit.

Crawling through a big tube.

Seeing the light.

Festivals and face paints go hand in hand.

Smiles for face paint.

Feeding the ducks at Bond Park.

I hope they like Cheetos.

Messy, messy.

Speaking of messy, messy. On this day, Ava had a mud bath in good 'ol red North Carolina dirt, down by a lake.

We had a fun farm visit on another day.

Petting the baby bunnies.

"Can I keep one?"

So soft.

Oink, oink.

Feeding the bunnies while a piglet watches on.

Yum, yum.

"Hey kid. Over here!"

Feeding a peacock.

Chickens and peacocks in harmony.

Out to the flower patch.

Running through the fields.

Greedy donkeys.

Greedy goats.

Nibble, nibble.

More please.

Ava, Emerson, Olivia and friends, swing on a tire.

And bounce.

We signed up for a morning gym class. This parachute is the big hit.

Lots of rides.

The girls eat some treats.

I think Olivia enjoyed that marshmallow!

Bouncing on the air mattress before bedtime.

The sun rises on the Thayne-Nielson campsite. A pretty mist rolls over the lake. If only the previous night had been so calm. Lots of toddler jostling and wake ups.

Emerson sleeps in.

Olivia wakes up Uncle Rex.

Misty morning.

The girls play on the shore.

Pretty girls.

Silly Olivia!

A little visitor on our tent eating a cricket.
